Winemaker’s Comments
“This terrific, food-friendly wine exhibits wild berry aromas and follows through with similar brambly berry and cracked pepper flavors. It’s a well-balanced wine with just the right acidity.”
– Charlie Tsegeletos, Winemaker

Fermentation & Aging
Unique lots of fruit were harvested separately. The grapes underwent gentle de-stemming and crushing to ensure a large proportion of whole berries that engender strong fruit character.  Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks with select yeasts.  The wine was pumped-over twice daily and the temperature was controlled to an optimum 85°F to extract optimum color and flavor.

Zinfandel grapes are organically grown and farmed in Mendocino County vineyards by some of the true pioneers of organic farming. Organic farming requires a commitment to eliminating dependence on chemical fertilizers and toxic fungicides and insecticides in favor of natural practices that protect the health and safety of our farm workers, create a thriving wildlife habitat, and result in clean run-off and healthier soils for our future. Even better, these practices result in delicious wine. The grapes are certified by the California Certified Organic Farmers, one of the most consumer recognized and trusted seals in the organic marketplace.
