2005 was a good season the wines produced that year have a good fruit quality in the aromas and mid-palate and strong acidity that is starting to mellow with 4 years of age. This years Frieberg Zinfandel is a much drier style. It still has the complexity from the botrytis but not the concentration of fruit that the 2004 had.
It will pair well with foods such as strong flavored cheeses, dry rubbed meats such as chicken or pork, and seasoned grilled vegetables.
It will also work well as a dessert wine paired with bittersweet chocolate recipes.
